NOTICE OF CHANGE IN MEETING LOCATION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, In compliance with the provisions of the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act P.L.1975, c. 231 (N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et seq.)Pursuant to N.J.S.A.10:4-8(d)

In response to the public health emergency in the state of New Jersey regarding COVID-19 (“Coronavirus”) The Borough hall of Penns Grove will be closed to the public. In accordance with Resolution No. 2021-1-2 as adopted on January 5, 2021; The Mayor and Council of the Borough of Penns Grove will meet at its regular meeting this Tuesday, March 2, 2021 via “ZOOM” online meeting platform at 6:30 p.m. EST, At which time formal actions may be taken with regard to such matters as may be brought before Mayor and Council for consideration. For those who wish to attend this meeting, it will be conducted electronically and/or by telephone for the public to follow along and participate during the public portion of the meeting:

Penns Grove Municipal Court has received guidance from the State of New Jersey for upcoming court sessions.

Below are the directions this court has been given and will follow until further notice:

Penns Grove Municipal court sessions are suspended through April 26, 2020 in order to mitigate public exposure to COVID-19.
Individuals who are scheduled to appear before the municipal court during this period should await notice of a new court date.

For any additional questions, you can call 856-299-0098 and choose the option for the Municipal Court, you must leave a message with the following information:

Clearly speak your first and last name

• Your address

The ticket or complaint number you calling about

The reason for your call

A telephone number or email address that can be used to contact you.

The Court Administrator / clerk will respond as quick as possible.

POLICE DIRECTOR – BOROUGH OF PENNS GROVE (SALEM COUNTY)
Population 4,900, Budget approximately $7M, 1 sq/mile. Penns Grove is seeking candidates for the position of Police Director. The successful candidate will serve as the Executive administrative for the Borough’s Police Department consisting of an authorized strength of 16 sworn officers and 4 SLEOs. Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years executive level experience in a police department. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major/ concentration in Police Science, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Fire Science, Emergency Management, Public Administration or closely related fields is preferred. Advanced specialized education/ certification preferred. Reports to the Mayor or Business Administrator. Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience in a range of $50,000 to $60,000 (for 4 days p/wk).
