About the Position
The Borough of Penns Grove is seeking qualified and motivated individuals for the position of Police Officer. Officers serve a vital role in protecting the safety and well-being of our residents, enforcing laws, and maintaining public trust.
Responsibilities
- Enforce local, state, and federal laws.
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls.
- Investigate incidents, gather evidence, and prepare detailed reports.
- Arrest and detain suspects when required.
- Participate in community policing programs to strengthen partnerships with residents.
- Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
Minimum Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen, at least 18 years of age.
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (college coursework preferred).
- Ability to meet all New Jersey Police Training Commission (PTC) requirements.
- Successful completion of background check, psychological and medical evaluations, and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a certified PTC Basic Course for Police Officers (Not Required).
- Prior law enforcement or military experience.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
