About the Position
The Borough of Penns Grove is seeking qualified and motivated individuals for the position of Police Officer. Officers serve a vital role in protecting the safety and well-being of our residents, enforcing laws, and maintaining public trust.
Responsibilities
Enforce local, state, and federal laws.
Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls.
Investigate incidents, gather evidence, and prepare detailed reports.
Arrest and detain suspects when required.
Participate in community policing programs to strengthen partnerships with residents.
Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
Minimum Qualifications
U.S. Citizen, at least 18 years of age.
Valid New Jersey driver’s license.
High School Diploma or equivalent (college coursework preferred).
Ability to meet all New Jersey Police Training Commission (PTC) requirements.
Successful completion of background check, psychological and medical evaluations, and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a certified PTC Basic Course for Police Officers (Not Required).
Prior law enforcement or military experience.
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
